To all my Woodland Biscuit Lover’s,
Beginning today, my ongoing love letter to life that began 10 years ago- Woodland Biscuit Company, will no longer be opening regularly for brunch service on the weekends- but we will continue to be here to serve the community in ways that are familiar (biscuit classes and events) and ways that we can dream up together. Check back every so often to see our schedule of biscuit classes and whatever else we are up to.
First, Thank you to my daughter’s Isabella and Gwen. Words can never and will never convey the deep love and respect I have for you in my heart and the never ending joy you bring to my life. You are and will be the best thing that has ever happened to me! Growing up with me, and in a restaurant that was also growing up- I know it was a lot and at times, too much. Thank you for doing your best with it all as you too were growing up. Isabella, thank you for adoring it and loving me and Gwen, thank you for accepting it because you love me. You are both remarkable. You helped me make a life-long dream come true.
To my family Bill, Diane, and Mike. I love you. Thank you for standing by my side emotionally and at times, in the dish pit and in the dining room and always with Isabella and Gwen. Mike, I want to thank you for the kitchen. Because your beautiful architect mind said yes, I can totally make that work for you, I carried on, built it and my dream came true.
And to my beautiful, dedicated, talented, honest, funny, gritty staff. You are Woodland Biscuit Company. Thank you for loving me, my vision, and food. You made every day a joy and gave me the best moments, the richest moments, moments I could not have made up even if I tried. Thank you for being part of this chapter of my love letter to life and thank you for making it better than I could have ever imagined.
And to all our engaging, dedicated, loving, and supportive customers. Thank you for coming. Only in my wildest dreams could I have imagined you! You have seen us at mostly our best but also at our worst and through it all, you returned with your graciousness, love and support. We were here because of you, because you came and you loved us unconditionally. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And thank you to the town of Woodland, yes, thank you. Your support has been unwavering. The friendship, the best kind of surprise. Your emergency response time, unbelievable. I continue to ask myself, where did these people come from? And I hope every time I talk to you your magic will rub off on me. This community is intoxicating in the most peaceful way. Thank you for bringing that into my life, it was needed.
To every single one of you….
I had the time of my life, and I owe it all to YOU.
My biggest and deepest heart felt thank you.
